Anzac weekend jaunt

Carterton

While Wellington put up with variable conditions we had a great day out in the typically sunny Wairarapa, it was well worth the drive over !!

Heading out of Carterton evidence of the previous days huge downpour lay across a lot of paddocks - and as we rode up Limeworks the 17 riders were spread all over the hill with Ian Paintin, "Golden" Larri and Lloyd setting a brisk pace at the front.  The rest of us suffered to varying degrees and regrouped at the summits - more hills, more fun till Te Kourarau hill which is one horrible climb, I think everyone was very happy to reach the top with b'fast still intact

Things hung together up Millers and didn't get too fractured until the final 20km - where a little cramp and fatigue hit some of us.  Overall the group stuck pretty much together for the full ride with everyone getting a decent workout in the run into the finish.

Lots of good stories and tales at coffee and plenty of smiling faces.

Thanks to all for comin over (in in Drews case riding down the road 500mtrs) and making it a fun day out.

See you all over the hill next time
