Great concept from Karl and the Ride Holidays team - get involved, partake - it's "only" 100Km and there's the celebrate with Donuts/Beer/Wine/Coffee reward at the end of the effort :-)
It's a time when we should be connecting and becoming a unified NZ/World, far too many divisive forces pushing and agitating - if we all just did the right thing how much better could it be.
The predawn rising of Matariki in the mid-winter sky marks the changing of the seasons and the beginning of the Māori New Year. On the 24th of June, New Zealand celebrates its first Matariki public holiday. It is a day of remembrance, celebration and looking forward to the future. Wherever you are in the world - we can all relate to this.
Over the course of the long weekend I am challenging you to ride 100km !
