Update: Cyclists passing through the SH2 / Haywards intersection need to pay extra attention while the intersection is being upgraded. It is a multi-stage process that will see temporary adjustments to Give Way settings, to lanes and temporary speed limit changes for traffic. Workers and heavy equipment will be operating on site 6 days a week.
Downer's recent update states "that work on the new pedestrian bridge continues. In May, we will be working on the piles in the middle of SH2. This work will require a realignment of the lanes heading north and south.
a. Cyclists heading south will have a new sealed path built
b. Cyclist heading north will have a slightly reduced shoulder.
The construction of the new bridge and intersection is due to finish in June 2017.
NZTA and the contractors building the new bridge at the SH2 / Haywards intersection are reaching out for feedback. I have been given the OTBs pen to complete this, if we have any. Any comments by return email to me directly, byCOB tomorrow please.
I've included the survey questions below
