The forecast was not looking good for this 115k race from Masterton to and
around Eketahuna. Sure enough, we had driving rain and a head wind heading
out but then things got a whole heap better with a tail wind and the sun
shining coming back. The route took us through back roads via undulating
farmland with a couple of modest hills and virtually no traffic.
