2017 Capital Cycles Two Day Tour - Post Tour Commentary and Winners

Hi OTB's, well it was great racing over the weekend during the Two Day Tour. Meet our podium winners for 2017.

Post Tour Commentary and Winners

For those who made it, it was sooo great having you with us over the weekend.

Well done to if you competed in the 2017 Capital Cycles Two Day Tour. A great weekend of competitive riding. It was perfect conditions on Day 1 - Prologue and Stage 2 road racing and despite weather bombs hitting other parts of the country and slightly wet and blustery conditions on Sunday at the startline for stage 3, Wairarapa managed to let the sun out and calm the winds down to provide good conditions for stage 3 racing.

2017 tour broken in to three stages - Stage 1 - Prologue is all about you, your bike and the road, nothing else, the Race of Truth; Stage 2 - Road race is about getting over Edge Hill then surviving the rollers in to Martinborough for the bunch sprint finish, and stage 3 is getting yourself over Millar's Rd (Twice for A - C grades) then its all about enduring Hinekura Hill and then the final hill sprint to the finish line. Great to see new riders to the tour in particular those riders in D and E grade,
and also great to see our annual competitors to the tour racing for line honours and podiums.

The racing was heated in more ways then one with stiff competition across all five grades, with riders from all over NZ and out to the west with our cousins from Australia, to spit out the front our podium and medal winners for 2017.
Congratulations to our overall grade medal recipients in all five grades and the overall female tour winners.
